Creation of a virtual reality simulator for helicopter maintenance training
Virtual Reality Industry & Defense
The challenge

Because of the cost of grounding aircraft, the French Navy’s Technical Instruction Service wants to use VR to train its students in the maintenance of Dauphin-Panther helicopters.

Our solution

Develop a helicopter simulator with several failure scenarios to identify. Photogrammetry is used to reproduce the helicopter in virtual form. Several failure scenarios can occur, and the student must perform the appropriate procedure to identify and repair the breakdown.

The benefits

The S.I.T. saves 500,000 euros a year thanks to this simulator, as it avoids having to use real helicopters for training. Practice time is multiplied by 5 for students before going into the field.
